
La Grande Chapelle begins its concert tour to celebrate Victoria
During February, La Grande Chapelle will perform a programme dedicated to Tomás Luis de Victoria in various concert halls. The centrepiece of the programme will be the Salve Regina Mass.

Albert Recasens, the musicologist and director of La Grande Chapelle, has presented us with a new album entitled Responsorios de Navidad (Christmas Responsories). He recorded it with his ensemble and dedicated it to the works of José de Nebra, the most important Spanish composer of the mid-18th century.

FeMAUB has adopted the theme ‘Love’ for its 2025 edition, taking advantage of the commemoration of the 350th anniversary of the canonisation of St John of the Cross (1675–2025) and inviting audiences to explore the many dimensions of love in early music. La Grande Chapelle contributes to this edition with a performance of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina's Cantos de amor sagrado: Canticum Canticorum (5vv) on 6 December in the San Francisco de Baeza auditorium.

The latest album by La Grande Chapelle and Lauda Música – José de Nebra. Christmas Responsories (LAU026) – has been nominated for the 2026 International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), one of the most prestigious awards on the international recording scene, in the category of world premiere recordings.

The Cervantes Institute in Prague announces the upcoming activities of Albert Recasens and the Grande Chapelle in Prague and Trebíc
Albert Recasens, founder and artistic director of the prestigious ensemble La Grande Chapelle, will visit Prague to perform two concerts with three soloists from the aforementioned Spanish ensemble, along with the ensemble Musica Florea, on November 23 and 24. In addition, on November 20, he will give a public lecture at the Prague headquarters entitled "Spanish Music and the European Context (17th-18th Centuries): From the Cathedral to the Court."

The vocal and instrumental ensemble La Grande Chapelle participated in the 44th edition of the Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht with a historical reconstruction of Tomás Luis de Victoria's Officium defunctorum, composed in 1603 for the funeral of Empress Maria of Austria. Dutch critics highlighted the expressive power and precision of one of the most majestic funeral ceremonies of the Spanish monarchy.
