Christmas Matins

Christmas responsories for soloists, choir and orchestra

For many years La Grande Chapelle has been looking for collaborators to premiere the Christmas matins responsories of José de Nebra, Spain’s leading 18th century composer. The collection of eight responsories revived here, was written in 1752 for the Royal Chapel service and makes up one of the Nebra’s finest religious works and one of the best examples of the Spanish baroque.
